The Practice

Kiera's practice has its roots in personal experience, passion, and years of dedicated study in the fields of thanotology (the study of death and dying), reproduction (everything from fertility to postpartum and all loss therein), alternative medicines and modalities (i.e. nutrition, energy medicine, herbalism), and philosophy and spirituality.

As a practitioner, Kiera has held space for birth and dying; for transitions in between and outside of life and death. Holding space is showing up for someone, being fully present, non-judgemental, accepting them where ever, whoever they are in that moment. Supporting and guiding them along their current transition or curiosity, through their joy and grief. Supplying helpful information so that they can make informed and educated decisions during unscripted challenges and changes. Space holding is an invitation for authentic, intuitive exploration into the taboo of living and dying. An invitation to sit together with fear, with the dark and wild unknown, and see what unfolds.

It is called a practice because Kiera is dedicated to the idea that creating a safe space for healing and growth is an organic, ever-changing experience and that the quality of the space is determined by the humility and flexibility of the environments creator. Kiera is a life-long student, an imperfect practitioner, and a compassionate and educated guide and ally. Their hope is that, when clients step into their office, they feel freer and more expansive and that, by the time they leave, they can step a little lighter and breathe a little deeper.

Kiera Granston (they/them)

Kiera is an animal-loving, tea-drinking, bibliophile. When they're not at home snuggling their cats, kids, and dog, they're out exploring farmers markets and vegan-friendly restaurants.

They have received degrees in music history and sound engineering, survived cancer twice, home birthed two babies, come out as gay, trans, and AuDHD, and doula-ed clients through fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, illness, loss, death, and grief.

In their first four decades on this planet, Kiera has been learning how to reconnect, re-member, and re-imagine how to be a "grown up", inviting their curiosity and authenticity to the forefront of their heart and life. In the next four decades, they aspire to become a better ancestor and consider themselves an elder-in-training. They hope to share wisdom, joy, grief, life, and death with those they are fortunate enough to spend their remaining time with.
